Gem Artist & Gemologist
Glenn Lehrer is an internationally renowned gemstone carver. He is regarded as a living legend in the art of lapidary and has been in the business of gemstone carving and jewelry design for almost 50 years.
His gemstones, sculptures and jewelry have been exhibited in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
Glenn is a recipient of many prestigious awards for his jewelry and gemstone designs. He has received 10 Cutting Edge Awards and one Spectrum Award from the American Gem Trade Association; the NITCH Award; and an award from the prestigious Idar-Oberstein Gem Engravers Association in Germany. He is also the inventor of the cut named the “TorusRingTM Gemstone” - a modern-looking, faceted gemstone with a hole in the middle. He is one of very few modern gemstone designers to have received a U.S. utility patent (#5722261) for the TorusRingTM Gemcut.
Glenn is an advocate for responsible mining and fair trade and sits on the board of trustees for the Colorful Life Foundation. It is a UK non-profit foundation committed to the economic activity generated by colored gemstones. The foundation works to help improve the health and education in gemstone mining and cutting communities in the developing world. It also seeks to foster sound environmental practices.
Dr. Daniel Amiwero
Consultant Geologist
Daniel Amiwero specializes in Mineral Exploration and Geoengineering. In the past 12 years, he has engaged in a variety of government and private projects in Nigeria including the Ilesha Gold Project, the Kebbi Gold Exploration Project, and the Kishi Gemstones Exploration.
His experience spans geological field mapping, geophysical exploration, geographical information system and remote sensing, geochemical analysis and interpretation for mineral exploration and environmental studies, project management for mines exploration, development, processing and geotechnical investigations for civil engineering and mines design.
He lectures part-time at the department of Geology and Mineral Sciences, University of Ilorin in Kwara state.
Daniel is a member of the International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment, as well as the Nigerian Miners and Geoscientists.
